It is full of nationally know artists from around the country. You will be amazed at the quality and diversity of works available, and right here in the DFW area!

Check me out; I am on the second floor, west gallery…

Check back here later this week for my take on the Festival…..

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold,
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

African Festival of the Arts in Chicago

September 6th, 2009 by Ernie

I made it to Chicago!!!  Kim, thanks so very much for meeting me in St. Louis.  Amos, thanks for your gracious hospitality! I’m visiting with family and friends for a few days before the festival.  The weather is beautiful, even if a bit on the cool side.  Hope to see a really big crowd out today!

All you art lovers, put on your walking shoes and make tracks to Washington Park.  I am in the Nubia section and have some beautiful art that will fit just right in that special place in your home.  The food is wonderful, the entertainment is superb, and the art is outstanding!

See you there!

I am getting ready to make that trip to the African Festival of the Arts in Chicago next week.  Chicago is my old stomping grounds.  Really looking forward to seeing the family and old friends.

I still have lots to do, busy, busy, busy……
